After seeing them appear multiple times on Instagram over the last few years, I was finally able to try Ginger Elizabeth's seasonal easter eggs. Cut through to reveal wildly decadent fillings with the front half of the egg covered in a beautiful hard candy shell. The shell doubles as the perfect base to keep your hands tidy while supporting the ample filling. The eggs I've tried so far have all been delicious. I was happy to get the opportunity also to cross off trying the delicious Dubai chocolate bar combination off my food bucket list. If you have the chance, make sure to snag one before they're gone until next year.

The chocolate here is delicious and quite literally just melts in your mouth. I love when Ginger Elizabeth's does special flavors and treats. Still drooling thinking about the Dubai style soft serve, ugh that was divine.

Ginger Elizabeth is inside another building but you can't miss it once you walk in. They have a huge variety of dessert selections. I got a too good to go order and was given these 2 jarred desserts. There were good, both coffee flavor but I wish I knew what they were. I believe 1 is a coffee mousse/pudding and the other might be tiramisu. Both weren't too sweet and had the perfect coffee taste to it (again, assuming it's a coffee dessert).

Beautiful chocolates and macarons! They have more on the menu like hot chocolate but I was able to try some macarons from the Too Good To Go app! I love a place that tries to limit food waste! The worker was also incredibly nice and answered all of my questions. I wish I got his name. But the service was amazing and quick. The macaron was flavorful and light. They also have unique flavors like Vietnamese coffee caramel!! I should have tried it but with this quick experience I will definitely come back.

I've written multiple reviews on her original L st store but I didn't realize I never wrote a review for this location. I miss the L st store for nostalgic reasons, but I frequent this store often because I'm a huge fan of just about everything Ginger makes. I recommend going to her ice cream socials as well as jam day. I was gifted her advent calendar this year and it was fabulous. Her hot chocolate is not to be missed either. Some of my favorite items include: -Macarons of course (Salted caramel, Almond vanilla, Peppermint) -Cookies (especially the chocolate chip) -Housemade marshmallows -Pot de creme -Macaron ice cream sandwiches -Frozen hot chocolate Service is always on point even when the line is long. Metered parking is available in front. Ginger Elizabeth is a Sacramento staple.

Overall? This place is a hidden gem. Tucked away in an unassuming storefront, stepping inside feels like you've somehow wandered into the Bellagio, minus the slot machines and overpriced cocktails. The service was stellar, and the desert was perfection. Its not cheap but worth the expense Here's what we had: Peppermint macaron (5/5): This little guy was a holiday miracle. Crisp shell, chewy inside, and just the right level of minty, like a festive party in your mouth, minus the awkward conversations. We would happily come back to sample more flavors Vanilla soft serve (5/5): Generously portioned and topped with mini macarons. The ice cream itself was pure buttery bliss. Rich, creamy, and paired beautifully with the espresso we ordered. Definitely a treat yourself moment Decaf espresso (5/5): Decaf can be hit or miss, but this was a total hit. Smooth, well-balanced, and not even a hint of that burnt, sad coffee taste you get at some places. The perfect complement to dessert

Ready to get chocolate wasted? Well that's what you may be in store for with Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates' case full of scrumptious macarons and chocolate infused menu. This little shop located in a shared space is frequented by many locals and visitors. It is not uncommon to see a line forming out the door for their goodies inside, and parking can be a bit tricky since there is only street parking available. There are usually spots just down the block around the corner but be prepared to put your eagle eyes on for those free parking spaces. Ginger Elizabeth hosts an abundance of sweet treats but by far it seems the patrons go for a mad dash on their freshly made macarons and hot chocolate drinks. They do also have gift boxes of their chocolates, hot chocolate mix, and other treats. Their glass case of macarons is clearly labeled with all of their flavors and if you're just looking for a taste, they do sell them individually (with small individual boxes to carry the precious cargo in). I, personally, am not a huge fan of macarons but I can tell they're carefully crafted to not only taste delicious but look beautiful before they're nibbled up. In addition to their macarons, they have freshly made cookies and cold treats including soft serve and frozen macarons. If we had more time here, we would have definitely given them a try but we will have to bookmark them for another visit! We primarily came for the hot chocolate drinks and they were as good as we expected! That pure chocolate richness coating your tastebuds as you attempt to pinpoint the different attributes and flavors is such an amazing experience, from the first sip to the last. The smallest size is perfect for one to enjoy but not be too indulged as to feel sweetened out; although if you're planning to share, perhaps a size up might be more appropriate. Sipping chocolate - elegance, decadence, richness and boldness all packed into an 8 oz cup is what you need to get if it's your first time here. If you're a hot chocolate fan, prepare to be enlightened. Mocha peppermint - delicious chocolate kicked up a notch with some good old fashioned espresso. Topped with some crunchy chocolate pearls and whip cream, you got yourself a taste of winter! Rose - very fragrant and has a nice sweet aroma and taste. Pairs well with the chocolate but not my personal favorite. Overall, if you're in the mood to get pampered or looking for the right gift from Sac Town for a chocolate lover, Ginger Elizabeth is where you need to go. The hot chocolates will warm your socks off and their desserts will have you coming back for more. The price point is certainly higher than most but won't find anything as good as this in this area. The staff are lovely and the space is quite clean - perfect for simply enjoying that hot cup of cocoa!

Located across the hall from Ro Sham Beaux wine bar. I returned to Ginger Elizabeth for their current seasonal flavors and my sweet tooth ran wild. In one sitting (with two friends as witnesses): a cup of frozen peppermint hot chocolate soft serve, one salty caramel cupcake, one gingersnap macaron (LOVE), one peppermint macaron (OK), also a bite of their gingersnap cookie (yum), and finished off with about half of a peppermint hot chocolate drink (vanilla marshmallow, chocolate pearls, hold the whipped cream). Why did I even bother with a box and a bag? The soft serve was not too minty for me, but that's just me. I'm a sucker for salty caramel anything by Ginger, and the chocolate cupcake delivered. The gingersnap macaron was the best, and I somehow missed the other seasonal macaron flavor, apple cobbler. The just-peppermint macaron was just okay. The actual ginger cookie was bigger than my hand, and just-right chewiness with the molasses. The hot peppermint hot chocolate drink was also the perfect seasonal holiday sip! Pretty much had everything but a macaron ice cream sandwich and chocolate bar! This is a nice stop for gifts as well (macarons, chocolate squares/bars, hot cocoa powder tins).

Time update my review since Ginger Elizabeth has changed since my last one. Now the shop no longer has pastries but, now sells things like cupcakes, cookies, brownies, slices of loaf styled cake etc. It's more dessert centered. It still has chocolates, macarons, and chocolate bars. Anything you buy here is delicious and the best. I'm personally not a huge fan of macarons but, the ones made here are the best I've had. The hot chocolate is rich, decadent, and special. They make their own marshmallows and whipped cream to top off the hot chocolate. You can also add an espresso shot to your hot chocolate for an additional charge. My go to is the Oaxacan spice hot chocolate which, tastes like Mexican hot chocolate but, more decadent. Now they have soft serve ice cream which is awesome. It's rich and creamy. The flavors have been rotating to one new flavor each month so far. But usually the vanilla and chocolate have been available along with the rotating flavor each month. There's an occasional sundae special too with the rotating flavor which is posted on their IG page if one happens that month. I just tried the coffee hazelnut brown sugar chocolate bar and it was to die for. It wasn't bitter at all or overpowered with the coffee flavor. It was smooth and delicious. Their ice cream macaron sandwiches are now available year round instead of just during the summer. The macaron ice cream sandwiches are amazing. Their customer service here is always great, attentive, and friendly.
